Cheerios® Sisters Saving Hearts grants recognize heart-inspiring heroes in the African-American
community. The grant-giving initiative will honor five individuals or service organizations with a $5,000
grant to the charity of their choice to help further their outreach. This year, Cheerios is partnering with the
Association of Black Cardiologists, Inc. and The Links, Inc. to help raise awareness and spread the heart-healthy
message among women everywhere. The Cheerios Sisters Saving Hearts grant initiative is part
of the broader Cheerios Circle of Helping Hearts® national campaign that celebrates February’s Heart
Health month.
Dear Friends,
Please join us in taking a stand to fight heart disease through the Cheerios® Sisters Saving Hearts grant-giving
initiative. Tragically, heart disease is the leading cause of death among American women,
particularly those of African-American heritage. Together, The Links, Incorporated, Association of Black
Cardiologists and Cheerios will empower everyday people who are doing extraordinary things to fight this
deadly disease.
If you know an individual or a service organization that is making heart-inspiring strides to raise
awareness about heart disease and the risk factors affecting the African-American community, help us
honor them by nominating them for the 2009 Cheerios Sisters Saving Hearts grant.
Sincerely,
